Best-wool Blankets

Cot blankets
Each of these cot / stroller blankets is a one-off, in bright juicy colours with a contrast stripe at one end. The fine honeycomb weave uses best 100% merino lambswool – very light, very tactile, warm and extremely soft.
These finished at 30 inch wide by 40 inch long – the ideal blanket for a littlieās cot or buggy.
Lap blankets
These adult-size lap blankets use a blend of lambswool and local fleece spun in Shetland, some of the colours are named after traditional Shetland fleece types. Natural tones, subtle stripes and the classic brighton honeycomb weave make for an elegant blanket that is warm, practical, comfortable and timeless.
These finished at 31 inch wide by 60 inch long – ideal for draping over knees or shoulders.

‘Sunset’ blankets

Just off the loom, these colourful blanket-shawls are the first to use an exciting new range of 100% British lambswool. A deeper honeycomb in the mid-section gives extra warmth around the shoulders.
These finished at 31 inch wide by 62 inch long – ideal over the shoulders for staying out ‘just a wee bit longer’ to enjoy the sunset.
Web photos will follow shortly.
What’s on the loom?
Commission pieces
There’s about 8 metres of British Wool warp on the ‘big’ loom and I’m happy to weave this in any combination of length, colour or structure. If you have a ‘special’ in mind, please stop by for a chat or pick up a card at our next craft-fair.
Here’s the 16-shaft table loom being used to sample structures and colours for the British Wool yarns.

What’s with the rabbit?

Da Wabbit is a much-loved family pet, who doubles as a brand-logo.
Unfortunately, she’s a bit too small to actually work the looms, but often helps with everyday office tasks like paper shredding… she’s especially keen on brown envelopes and cardboard boxes!
